New 2d Value 1942



This was a new issue, the redesign of the 2d. This changed from the Map of the Islands to an image of the Government Offices. Gibbons has this duty being released on 19/5/42. The issue was due a despatch date of 1 month after approval of proof.

A further requisition of the 1/2d, due on 25/9/42. Contains the instructions 500,000 stamps to be retained for sale to Messrs Idingfields.

A Waterlow requisition for the 1d, 5d, 2/- and 2/6d duties. Due end of May 1942.

This required reprints of the 1/2d, 11/2d and 1s 5d. Each value also required stamps to be sent to dealers. Supply was due 26/9/42 for the first two values to be complete by 10/10/42. The 1s 5d had to be complete by 26/9/42. As can be seen this was date was missed.
