The 1939 Requisitions

In total there were six different requisitions during this year. One of which (5936/1) was a new value, and another (5898/1) a change of colour.

This was given a due date of 15.12.39 and as can be seen they were despatched in July of that year. In total, therefore, the initial 5d had two issues before the change of colour.

5898/1

This was the new 5d colour change, changing from a blue vignette to yellow green to allow a more accurate representation of sugar cane colouring. Stanley Gibbons lists this as being issued in the colony on 1.10.40, nearly ten months after it's despatch. The CA records show the due date being 15/12/39.

This is an interesting requisition due to the fact that it referred to Stamp Booklets. The notes written below are as written in the CA records and it is unclear the difference between booklets and bks. The due date was given as 29/11/39

This became the second part of the order to fulfil booklet requirements, and was the Waterlow duty. The due date was given as 30/10/39.

Another new duty which is shown by Stanley Gibbons as being issued in Fiji on 13/6/40. The due date was given as 12/12/39.
