Kong Centenary
1940/1
Introduction
To celebrate the centenary of
British Occupation six duties were released in the colony
on 26th February 1941. The designer of these stamps was
W.E. Jones and the printing contract went to Bradbury,
Wilkinson. They had a Multiple Script watermark and were
perforated 13.5 x 13 or 13 x 13.5

Just eleven months later, on Christmas Day 1941, the island surrendered to the invading Japanese forces and remained under their control until 30th August 1945.
