1946-49 Definitives
One of the most researched areas in George VI is that of the Thick and Thin maps of the Falkland Island dependencies. The original issue map (1/2d to 1s) is described in Gibbons as "thick and coarse". This can be seen in example a. The London printing release date for this was 11th February 1946

The stamps were also printed (values as before but with an additional 21/2d) with a map described by Gibbons as "thin and clear". This can be seen in example b

The Thick and coarse printing resulted in many errors which are catalogued by both Gibbons and The GVI Commonwealth Catalogue.
